    Colin Kaepernick

Former San Francisco 49ers NFL Quarterback Colin Kaepernick took a stand when he decided to take the knee during the American national anthem.

Former San Francisco 49ers NFL Player Colin Kaepernick Branded An ‘Imbecile’ For Comparing The NFL To Slavery!

Now he has spoken out against the NFL in light of his Netflix documentary ‘Colin in Black and White.’ Colin, for his part, made a huge statement when he protested at what he perceived to be increasing police brutality.

And following the release of his documentary, he did not hold back on what he felt about the sport. After all, he did not play after having taken the knee. In making his feelings clear, he went on to compare the NFL training to ‘slavery.’

He said: “Before they put you on the field, teams poke, prod, and examine you searching for any defect that might affect your performance. No boundary respect. No dignity left intact.”

His position did earn him many plaudits, as it showed his supporters that he was willing to stand up for his beliefs. Prior to Colin speaking out against this issue, he was earning around $19 million a year.

Therefore, he was not doing it for the sake of money. And this passion has only increased through the years, especially since the death of George Floyd.

Having said that, though, not everyone was impressed by what Colin had to say. Some felt that he had thrown the NFL under the bus by failing to acknowledge a sport that had done so much for his career and life. As such, his critics felt that his comments did nothing to bridge the gap in trying to create harmony.

One user on social media stated: “Colin Kaepernick compares the NFL combine, which allows all players of all races a voluntary chance to become multi-millionaires, to slavery.

“Anyone still defending this imbecile lacks a functional brain.” This documentary has ultimately divided people along many fault lines.

Regardless of whether you agree with what Colin has had to say, he is certainly a brave man in continuing to say his truth in the face of such adversity. And that should be commended at the very least.
