You’re probably surprised to see a headline that doesn’t include COVID-19 somewhere in the title and you wouldn’t be the only one. President Clinton started complaining of feeling fatigued earlier in the week on a state visit and was admitted to UCI Medical Center in Orange County and is currently in the ICU.
This is probably due to his technically being a cardiac patient, the former president has had quadruple bypass surgery before, and anything potentially to do with the kidneys can potentially affect the heart. So its a good thing he made it to the hospital when he did.
Former President Clinton hospitalized with urosepsis
According to sources he is “on the mend” after receiving two days worth of antibiotics, it is currently unknown how long the former President will be in the hospital but its a safe bet that it will be until the infection has cleared, but COVID restrictions might actually mandate less recovery time due to ICU beds needed.
Then again the former President is considered a a VIP and we highly doubt that any hospital would come knocking on his door to kick him out. (Would that be considered unpatriotic? Treason? I mean… one wonders!) Still, we’re sure the President would give anything to be recovering at home.
(That’s always the best kind of recovery anyway.) One might joke about the President’s former love of McDonald’s but it seems that since 2010 he has taken his health pretty seriously and adopted a vegan lifestyle.
So what is urosepsis, exactly? It’s when your regular, run of the mill UTI turns septic. Anytime an infection turns septic you run the risk of death. Especially if it could potentially impede kidney function. Essentially, when a UTI is severe enough it invades the kidneys and causes a severe enough infection to shut them down.
Once one’s kidneys shut down then death is inevitable because one is unable to flush any toxins from the body. This is a pretty horrible way to go, and one that, if one is fully conscious, can be pretty painful. We’re glad that former President Clinton is on the mend and wish him a speedy recovery. Stay tuned!
