Britney Spears has been getting people talking with her Instagram account. One of the most recent dramas surrounding it was when the whole account went dark. This led fans to believe there could be trouble behind the scenes. However, her lawyer later confirmed the singer shut things down for a bit by choice. It seems no matter what Britney Spears does, people start talking. And some don’t always have the best opinions about what she has to say. Everything from her engagement announcement to her nude/topless posts have been a source of speculation, some good and some bad. However, it’s a newer post we really got a kick out of.

So, Britney Spears posted a video of herself with a doll, plus a meme. In the caption, she wrote, “I had a baby y’all … I will be taking some time off shooting at home every day !!! Her nursery is beautiful and her name is Brennan … we even look alike!!! My first girl!!! I’m turning 40 this year … age is nothing but a number but seriously … growing up is the dumbest thing you’ll ever do so PLAY ON MY FRIENDS.”

The meme said, “Being an adult is the dumbest thing I’ve ever done.” We can’t help but agree. After all, adulting can really wear on a person and suck a lot of joy out of one’s day. Like when you’re stuck listening to a never-ending loop of announcements while on hold, or when you’re stuck for hours in a line at the DMV or some other office. But what can one really get out of this post?
Britney Spears embraces the inner child
While some people have remarked that the video is unsettling, with some even saying they’re getting “Anna Nicole vibes”, others see the lighter side of the video. So, if you’ve gotten into any kind of spirituality or trauma healing, you’ve likely dealt with the inner child. If not, you will. Or you’ve at least heard people talk about it. The theory goes we have a child that lives inside of us. He or she is a part of ourselves we’ve lost over the years, or been wounded by trauma and abuse. By getting in touch with one’s inner child, we open ourselves up to the old us. The one that wasn’t conditioned by what others told us we should do, be, or think. The one who saw the world innocently and had a joy about them.
When you work to recapture that part of yourself, especially when you’ve experienced trauma and other harm, you heal yourself. You find a love and innocence again that was dampened by the negative experiences. So, we loved seeing this post. It was a great reminder to be more playful, for one. For another, it shows that the singer is working on her healing and making some good strides.
