She can’t say that she wasn’t warned, right? Now that Piers Morgan will soon be back on television again, he’s got a message for Meghan Markle. After having walked off from his job at “Good Morning Britain” after he refused to apologize to Meghan Markle for not believing her claim that she suffered from mental health issues back when she was a full-time working royal, the television personality has landed a new role with Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation. Here’s what you need to know.
Piers Morgan Has A New Message For Meghan Markle Now That He’s Back On Television
According to reports, Piers has made a deal with News Corp and Fox News Media in a global deal that includes a new TV show in early 2022, newspaper columns and a book contract. News corp owner Rupert Murdoch said in a statement on Thursday Morgan was “the broadcaster every channel wants but is too afraid to hire. Piers is a brilliant presenter, a talented journalist and says what people are thinking and feeling.”
While celebrating his good news, Piers seemingly slammed the Duchess of Sussex by taking a jibe at her. He told The Sun: “And I need to say a special thank you Meghan. As we sit drinking now, it was five years ago I met her here.”
Piers also added: “And I bet she was sitting there celebrating my departure from Good Morning Britain so this move will be the stuff of nightmares for her. So cheers Meghan!”
With that said though, Piers has also been advised to treat Meghan like she’s “non existent,” according to journalist Kinsey Schofield.
Schofield put it this way: “You know, Piers is such a character here in the States, there’s a love/hate relationship with him, he’s very polarising. But I could say the same for Meghan Markle, I do think that Americans understand that there were a lot of questionable accusations made in that interview and we did jump to conclusions when we heard it. There was no pushback from Oprah Winfrey during that interview so obviously we all consumed it as truth.”
She added: “But, I would tell you if I were Piers Morgan, I think that he’s got something’s cooking and he’s about to announce something and he’s going to have another platform. If I were in his position, I would not give a single second to Meghan Markle if you want to crush this woman. You don’t talk about her because her greatest fear is to be irrelevant. And I know that it keeps him in the papers, but I almost think that it would hurt her more, if he would just pretend that she was non-existent.”
