New ‘The Bachelor’ Spoilers

‘The Bachelor’ for season 26 has officially been cast according to ABC and The Hollywood Reporter. And, contrary to Reality Steve’s leak, it is NOT Greg Grippo from Katie Thurston’s season…it is someone Bachelor Nation has not met yet.

There is good reason that no name has been attached to the announcement…the mystery man is someone who had been competing on Michelle Young’s recently wrapped season.

‘The Bachelor’ For Season 26 Has Been Cast…and it’s Not Greg Grippo

This news is a surprise to Bachelor Nation as Executive Producer, Mike Fleiss had hinted through tweets weeks ago that the new Bachelor choice was someone known to audiences and that he would “unite” Bachelor Nation.

When Reality Steve announced that Grippo would be the next leading man, opinions were quick, loud and plentiful.

Instead of uniting, the leak instantly divided Bachelor Nation. Thanks to Grippo’s sudden self-elimination and subsequent explosive argument with Thurston on After the Final Rose, it seemed Bachelor Nation was split into two camps: #TeamKatie or #TeamGreg.

It is now said Grippo was on ABC’s short list only, along with Andrew Spencer and a handful of other contestants. Whether that is simply ABC backtracking on their decision to cast Grippo after hearing the backlash upon Reality Steve’s leak, we do not know.

As per the ultimate Season 26 lead choice, it is said producers “resonated most with the story of one of Young’s soon-to-be exes, and leaned instead towards giving the newcomer a second chance.”

Reality Steve responded to the news of the newly chosen mysterious lead by tweeting, “I’m hearing this for the first time like you all are. I’m guessing it’s true. I’ll see if I can find out who it is. But right now, I’m in Vegas, and football season has started. Priorities.”

Production on Season 26 of The Bachelor will begin soon, if it has not already, and will air in January 2022. The host(s) of the season is/are still unknown and while Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams now have two seasons of co-hosting under their belts, calls for Wells Adams to take the reins have likely made it to producer’s ears, or Twitter DMs. Adams is doing a similar job on Bachelor In Paradise, screening now – and doing it well.
