Jenna Johnson, who is best known for being on Dancing with the Stars, has opened up on how she hurt herself on the first routine with her dance partner JoJo Siwa.

The duo, for their part, made history given that they became the first same-sex dance partners in the history of the show. While they did not disappoint, given that the pair came top of the standing after the first week, the mistake did play on her mind.

Not to worry, though, there was no long term damage that had been done. In an interview with Page Six, Jenna looked back at the whole experience in depth.

She said: “I slipped on JoJo’s dress, and both my feet actually came out from under me. While I was in that process of trying to squeeze and not fall … my knee kind of tweaked, kind of slipped out of place, came back in.”

The injury meant that Jenna had to take some time off from the practise sessions, which had threatened to disrupt the routine. With the pressure mounting on the first night of the show, there were some concerns that Jenna might not make it.

And would that have happened, then the producers would have had to decide whether a new dance partner was introduced or whether the duo would be sent home.

Luckily, Jenna did not have to go through any of that. She added: “Very unfortunate, but there’s no way that I would miss out on week two! They made me take a day off to just rest. So, icing the knee, but I feel fine. I did some therapy last night.”

Despite feeling better, Jenna felt a hint of sadness over the fact that JoJo’s special moment on the show had been disrupted. And yet, Jenna should be praised for the fight she had shown in still continuing.

Nevertheless, she did not see it that way. She continued: “Obviously, I’m so disappointed because I feel like I took away from JoJo’s moments because this was such an epic night for us, for Dancing With the Stars, for her.”
