Katie Thurston has opened up about her fashion sense following the conclusion of The Bachelorette.

The star turned many heads when she decided to walk away with Blake Moynes after having gotten engaged to him. While that was an enormous moment in itself, so were the fashion statements that she had made. And yet, looking back over how she dressed, Katie had a different perspective on it all.
In the following picture here, we can see the initial promo photo of Katie to mark her appearance on the franchise. She is wearing a purple skirt, while holding a red rose in her hands. But when we look closer, it seems that her skirt was being worn the wrong way round. Not to worry though, it was not a blip. In fact, it seems it was done to make Katie stand out more.
In an interview with Us Weekly, she said: “I feel like my stylist knew that it was backwards, but thought that was an edgier way to do it. I know nothing about fashion, so I was like, ‘Ok, let’s go for it,’ not realising that the internet would pop off about it.”
Nevertheless, that is not how the fans viewed it all. A certain subset of fans came and felt sorry over how Katie had been portrayed. Not only that, but some of the comments started to become even personal. One such fan noted: “And the skirt was styled wrong, the zipper is supposed to be in the back justice for Katie.”
Given that Katie has suffered from anxiety and insecurity in the past, namely from being a victim of sexual assault, the comments started to get to her. In response to the remarks, she stated: “Anyone who wants to message me about my part, or my fashion or lack thereof, I’m just gonna block you.”
Regardless of what you think about Katie’s choice of clothing, what we do know is that she is always going to speak her mind. And that is not going to be changing anytime soon.
