Melissa Gorga and Joe Gorga may have been together for over a decade, but their first date was one of the worst moments in Melissa’s life.
‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’: Melissa Gorga’s Worst Date Was With Her Husband Joe Gorga
The stars of the Real Housewives of New Jersey continue to defy the odds in their relationship, despite the apparent discontent behind the scenes. There have been worries that Melissa and Joe are starting to grow apart as they want different things from their lives. Melissa, for her part, is keen on expanding her brand.
Meanwhile, Joe has always placed an emphasis on traditional values and his family. And yet, who would have thought that they would get this far, especially when we look at their first date. In an interview with Us Weekly, Melissa stated how their first encounter was one to remember.
She said: “[On] the first date he had me at his home and he made me a fake dinner…He put all the food in the pots and pans that he ordered from the Italian restaurant down the street and swore he cooked it all.” Nevertheless, Melissa did work out that Joe was lying. However, that was not the worst of it.
Joe took things a step further when they decided to go on a second date. It is here where they were hoping to enjoy each other’s company. During the course of the date, though, Joe fell asleep.
She added: “[Then] there was our second date, where he worked so hard that I was sitting there just talking to him, and he literally fell asleep.“I was like, ‘Am I boring you? I am not used to boring people.” Although Joe was not exactly making a good impression, he did manage to save himself from trouble. He informed Melissa that he had woken up so early in order to make sure that their date could go smoothly.
Even though it went anything other than that, the effort did win her over. She continued: “He was like, ‘No, I got up at 5:30 this morning. I’m exhausted. I was like, ‘Wow. I’ve never seen anyone nod out on me before…He still works like a dog, to be honest.”
