So, what exactly is going on here? There’s a new report that suggests Princess Charlene of Monaco has no intention of ending her South African exile anytime soon. The royal has recently offered new details about her illness and recovery, pointing out that she “cannot force healing” and that she anticipates leaving South Africa around the end of October after another medical procedure.
Speaking to South Africa Radio 702’s host Mandy Wiener, the princess said she was “in a waiting game” and that this is the longest time that she’s ever been away from her children, who were left behind in Europe with their father, Prince Albert.
Princess Charlene Won’t Be Returning To Monaco Anytime Soon
Princess Charlene said in her radio interview, “Initially I was supposed to be here for 10 to 12 days, unfortunately, I had a problem equalizing my ears, and I found out through the doctors that I had a sinus infection and quite a serious one. So, it’s taking time to address this problem that I’m having.”
But some critics are saying that Princess Charlene’s “excuses” are wearing thin. As many royal fans know, Charlene infamously shaved her head in the style of a punk rocker last December – an act which many saw as the first public sign of a worsening crisis that could end in a multi-million dollar divorce.
Apparently, the former Olympic swimmer is suffering with chronic ear problems – a complaint that is common among former elite swimmers. Yet, a Monaco source who knows the couple well meanwhile suggested the excuse was “sounding very thin, especially considering how many times it has been reeled out.”
The tipster added, “Patients with very serious problems are flown to other parts of the world all the time. The Princess has the finest medics in the world looking after her – making a flight home extremely safe and comfortable would not be that difficult.”
So far Prince Albert has not made any comments about the matter.
