There’s a new report that suggests the British Royal Family were actually secretly pleased that Meghan Markle did not attend Prince Philip’s funeral back in April. The claims have been made in the updated version of Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand’s book, “Finding Freedom.” Keep reading for everything that you need to know.
It’s been said that Meghan Markle decided to skip out on Prince Philip’s funeral back in April because she was heavily pregnant with her and Prince Harry’s child Lilibet at the time. So instead Prince Harry made the trip on his own, much to the relief of the rest of the royal family, apparently.

The books says that the royals were happy that Meghan didn’t show up, as they “didn’t want a circus” or as one senior staff member put it, see Meghan “creating a spectacle.”
If that weren’t enough, the book also claims that Prince Harry was “furious” over Harry and Meghan’s decision to speak out about their royal drama with Oprah Winfrey in their epic interview. It said William felt “‘furious’ that private family matters” became “discussed in the public domain.”
However, the book also says that for Meghan, she felt the opposite. A source said that for the Duchess of Sussex, the interview was both “cathartic” and “liberating.”
So far neither Prince Harry nor Meghan Markle have made any comments about the matter.
