‘Counting On’: Jim Bob Duggar Missing a Nice Payday After Cancellation…Just How Much?

The Duggar family has made millions for the TLC network with both of their shows- 19 Kids and Counting and it’s spin off, Counting On. In return, the family has been receiving a regular paycheck for their approximately 325 episodes of television over the past 13 years.

The almighty reality TV dollar is drying up now, though, as eldest son Josh Duggar managed to get another show about his family cancelled–this time one he didn’t even appear in–due to his alleged abhorrent and illegal behavior.

So how much money has he managed to screw his family out of this time?

‘Counting On’: Jim Bob Duggar Missing a Nice Payday After Cancellation…Just How Much?

It’s has been revealed that the family is paid roughly $80K for each ‘section’ of filming – which usually turns into one episode. This is a jump from a reported $25-45K per episode reported by PEOPLE in 2020.

Each season is varied in length, but the average is between 10 and 13 episodes. If the newer numbers are to be believed, per season the Duggar family is ordinarily bringing in around $850K. Sometimes there were two seasons filmed in one year and once there were three.

Here’s the catch. Every single dollar went to patriarch, Jim Bob, even though he appeared in Counting On a lot less than 19 Kids and Counting, and the other stars were all adults.

Jim Bob is said to have invested some of the earnings for the family and to have doled out the rest as he seems fit.

Reports have said that Jim Bob isn’t the best about sharing funds fairly, in fact a falling out over money is a big reason for the rift between Jill Duggar Dllard and her parents. According to Jill, who appeared on both “19 Kids and Counting” and originated “Counting On”, wasn’t paid for her time until after she quit the show.

“That’s when we got an attorney involved and finally recovered some of the money,” Jill claimed.

The fact that the money has now dried up is said to be a bone of contention within the family (no duh), especially as Jim Bob, and the TLC earnings are paying for Josh’s legal fees as he attempts to fight the charges pressed against him.

We will not be surprised if more attorneys will be getting involved on behalf of Josh’s adult brother s and sisters so that those who actually appeared in ‘Counting On get to see some of their earnings before Josh’s legal woes swallow it all up.
