Thomas Markle has revealed that he did not receive a call from Prince Harry or Meghan Markle in the aftermath of their daughter’s birth.
Thomas Markle Discovered The Arrival Of His Granddaughter ‘On The Radio’
The duo recently welcomed the arrival of Lilibet, which had hoped to take away the spotlight from their controversial interview on CBS with Oprah Winfrey. Although it did manage to do that, in part, it seems Thomas has been left angry at the prospect of being cut out from his daughter/granddaughter’s life.
In an interview with 60 Minutes Australia, Thomas revealed how he was left reeling from the duo’s failure to reach out. He said: “I’m not a tearful type … but I’m certainly hurt by a lot of it. There’s a good chance I might never see my grandchildren.” The news was also painful given the manner that Thomas had become aware of the news.
He admitted that he has not spoken to Harry since he was admitted to hospital after having a heart attack in 2018. And during that time, Thomas stated how Harry hung up on him while he was lying in a hospital bed. Naturally, if no one cared about Thomas when he was having a heart attack, no one is going to consider his wishes as a grandfather.
He added: “[There were] no phone calls. I just heard it on the radio. I haven’t spoken to [Meghan] since two days before they got married.” Whilst Thomas would love to have a relationship with Meghan, he also wants to know why Meghan has decided to cut him out.
Meghan, for her part, has stressed that she fell out with Thomas after it emerged that he was talking to the press about her wedding with Harry. Even though he denied that this was the case, the fall out has continued to this present day. Nevertheless, Thomas has been left deprived of answers.
He continued: “If I had done something terribly wrong, that’d be fine. But I haven’t. I just want an answer. … Meghan [ghosted] me and.. that’s a cold thing to do. … None of this makes sense.” With the duo still not on speaking terms, it is hard to see how they will be able to patch things up.
