Ali Fedotowsky has given her two cents worth on how to successfully navigate the Bachelor franchise as a lead.

Ali, for her part, is all too aware of what it is like to be on the show. During her own stint on The Bachelorette, the star would end up getting engaged to Roberto Martinez in 2011. While the relationship looked to be blooming, the duo would end up parting ways after approximately 18 months.

And looking back, she would have done things so differently just as she is encouraging the current generation to do so. During an interview with Us Weekly, Ali urged the leads to take their time. She said: “I always say the same thing. I say, ‘Figure out who you like right away, like, day one and ignore them.

[This is] because they’re going to be there two or three [weeks] later.” This advice was sadly absent during her time on the show. Ali opened up on how she ended up sending two contestants home early; when looking back, she could have pursued things with them a bit further. Such examples include Frank Neuschaefer and Jason Whitehead.

Although Ali did not go as far as saying she could have hooked up with either of them, she felt that she missed out on an opportunity to get to know them better: at the very least. She added: “I put all my eggs in two baskets on my season, and in the end, I feel like that really hurt me because I wasn’t able to really get to know some of the other guys.

“If I had given it a little bit of time, something could have happened.” With that in mind, she has backed the current lead Katie Thurston to come good. Katie has been praised for her bullishness in stating how she feels and what she wants.

This was none more so than when Katie called out alleged bullying on Matt James’ season of the show. Ali continued: “I’ve been a super fan of Katie since day one. I love that she took a stand against bullying, and I think that’s so hard to do on that show.”
