Nick Carter and Lauren Kitt have opened up the terrible ordeal they had to go through during the difficult birth of their daughter Pearl.

While Pearl may be home now safe and sound, it was not plain sailing initially. The one-month-old baby had complications in the aftermath of an emergency C-section. Thus, she had problems breathing independently. The doctors responded by hooking up Pearl to a ventilator, but in the midst of all this, the parents were left none the wiser as to what was happening.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Lauren detailed the graphic nature of what she had to see. She said: “They said she had distressed breathing, respiratory distress, and she looked like a Smurf…She was blue. I remember seeing her and I was like, ‘Wow! That baby is, like, dark purple. Blue.” Just as Lauren was in complete shock, so was Nick.
He had particularly been worried, given the number of miscarriages he had to witness during his time with Lauren. Naturally, with the birth out of the way, he could not believe that his baby may still not make it. In the picture here, we can see Nick is distressed at the hospital as he is left holding onto hope. And recalling it all back was a bit too much for him.
He stated: “I was seeing our newborn baby being hooked up to these machines, and she was very blue… We just kept asking questions like, ‘What’s going on?” But now that Pearl has made it out in one piece, the family has been cherishing every moment with her. Nick, in particular, has taken on a huge role in making sure that his daughter is well looked after.
We only have to look at his social media to see. The Backstreet Boys member shared a series of photos of him and his daughter next to each other via a sling as she is fast asleep. Nick’s happiness is clearly visible by the huge smile he has across his face. It is great to see the whole family in a much better place, and we wish them well for the future.
