Actress and bona-fide smarty pants Mayim Bialik can’t imagine NOT wanting to be part of Jeopardy! And fans of the mainstay game show are delighted by her tenure as guest host.
“Professional, well spoken, intelligent, sense of humor…Alex would be proud!” one viewer enthused while another agreed and added, “Smart and personable…she’s going to be tough to outshine.”
Only the second woman (after Katie Couric) to host the iconic show, Bialik came loaded with Big Bang Theory, Beaches and Blossom fans, but it’s her PhD in neuroscience that has given the enigmatic hostess the…ah, mostest.

After “losing her mind” when asked to step up to the podium for two weeks, Bialik described her experience on set as “incredibly gratifying,” saying it “felt like being home. It felt like these are my people, the way that the show is run, the way that that we understand the material and how to move through this show it just felt really, really natural, and it was terrific.”
She also admits to crying after wrapping her 10 episodes which she labels one of the most iconic things she has ever been a part of.
Obviously a big fan of the show, Bialik was asked if she would want to play as a celebrity contestant, “A lot of people assume that I’m naturally good at Jeopardy!” she explained, “but the kind of knowledge and information that is required to be a Jeopardy!-level champion is very, very specific. And I have specificity in neuroscience and in how to be a sitcom actress.”
We’re still pretty sure she’d kill it. So, if not a contestant, would Bialik want to take over the hosting role permanently?
“There’s not any answer that doesn’t include yes!” she exclaimed. “I will say that for me personally, and academically speaking, this is a really, really, really lovely place that I felt so comfortable, and was really honored to be part of it in any way.” She continued to say, “If people find me tolerable, this is a dream job.”
There are still a bunch of big names who will follow Bialik’s two week tenure, but it’s safe to say fans are finding the 45 year old mother of 2 far more than tolerable.
