During an interview with the Today Show this past weekend, Paltrow opened up about her relationship with her ex, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. The exes share their two children, 17-year-old Apple and 15-year-old Moses together.
Gwyneth Paltrow Keeps Embarrassing Chris Martin In Public
“He’s like my brother,” Paltrow said of Martin. “You know, he’s my family. I love him.”
“I’m so grateful to him for giving me these kids,” she stated. “It worked out well … You know, it really did, I have to say.”
While the exes seem to be in a very good place these days, Paltrow did admit that she never wanted to divorce Martin. The ex-couple pulled the plug on their marriage back in 2014. While on the Anna Faris is Unqualified podcast, Gwyneth reflected on her split from Chris Martin. The ex-couple share two children, Apple, 17, and Moses, 13.
“I never wanted to get divorced,” Paltrow admitted on the podcast. “I never wanted to not be married to the father of my kids, theoretically. But I have learned more about myself through that process than I could have imagined.”
“And because I focused on accountability, I was then able to find the most amazing man and build something that I’ve never had before with Brad [Falchuk], my husband,” she continued.
Gwyneth also opened up about her relationship with her current husband.
“We were friends first for a long time and once I was like, ‘Are we going to date? Is this happening?'” the actress revealed. “I was scared because he is a person who demands presence and intimacy and communication in a way that I just didn’t know how to [do].”
