Ed Sheeran may be one of the biggest musicians in the world, but not everyone is a keen fan of his music.
Ed Sheeran’s Daughter Does Not Like His Music
Ed, for his part, has already made enough hit songs to last a lifetime. While he has an array of fans from all over the world, it seems those who are closer to home are not really big fans. Step forward: Ed’s daughter Lyra. The latter is barely a year old, but she has already discovered that her father’s music does more harm than good.
In an interview with Radio 1, Ed said: “I’ll sing [my new songs] to my daughter, who’s not my biggest fan. She just cries. No, I’ve got some she likes. She really likes ‘Shape of You’…but she doesn’t like anything loud or anything belt-y.” Although Lyra may not like his music, that has not stopped the two from bonding. Ed took an extensive break from music in order to be closer to his daughter and wife, Cherry.
The onset of the pandemic merely reinforced what Ed was feeling, and that is why they decided it was the right time to have a child. In a post to his fans on Instagram at the time, Ed could not stop gushing over his daughter. He revealed: “We are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing, and we are on cloud nine over here…Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed x.”
Despite being one of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, Ed has chosen to keep himself out of the limelight. This was most evident in his marriage to Cherry. Not only was she not a household name, but their marriage was also kept under wraps. In 2018, the pair got married in a secret wedding.
Although it was an intimate ceremony, fans were left in shock by the absence of huge star names in attendance. But with Lyra now in his life, Ed has an opportunity to do what very few artists have done: bring their children on tour. After all, Lara could follow in Ed’s footsteps. Time will tell if that happens.
