Amy Schumer has called out Judd Apatow for the director’s portrayal of Megan Fox in his 2012 movie entitled, ‘This Is 40.’

In the movie, Megan ends up playing the character of an escort by the name of Desi. While the movie did well in certain aspects of its comedy, Amy has stressed that the film does not age well with time. She accused Judd of allowing Megan’s character to face mass objectification, at a time, where Hollywood has been called out for its inappropriate treatment towards women.

In an interview, Amy said: “That movie is hilarious and very spot-on. I recommend everybody who has a husband or wife and kids to watch it [but] Megan Fox is treated in it so badly.” Amy’s comments are even more true in light of what Meghan has said in the past. Meghan previously blasted the treatment she had received on the set of the Transformers movies.

She had a particular grievance with Michael Bay, who was the director in charge. Megan stated how she would just be told to exude her sexuality on screen, rather than having a focus on the acting itself. And it all came to a head when she blasted him by referring to the director as being similar to Adolf Hitler.

This impacted Meghan’s mental health. In a prior interview with Fox, Meghan said: “I was speaking out and saying, ‘Hey, these things are happening to me, and they’re not OK. And everyone was like, ‘Oh well, f–k you. We don’t care; you deserve it.” But this was not the only incident that Meghan had been through. She stated how this also occurred in another movie.

During her 2009 appearance in ‘Jennifer’s Body’, the movie flopped at the box office. In fact, it was criticised for its over-sexualisation of characters, with Meghan being at the heart of it. Sadly, that has followed Meghan ever since.

She added: “It wasn’t just that movie. It was every day of my life, all the time, with every project I worked on and every producer I worked with,” she said at the time. “It preceded a breaking point for me.”
