’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers finds that last week we saw Betty and Ron Gibb suggest that Brandon and Julia Trubkina Gibb double-up their wedding celebration with Ron’s 70th birthday party, something that neither one wanted to do.
They said that they were happy with the original wedding celebration that they had. Betty was the one who was really pushng things, saying that Brandon and Julia didn’t get to have a traditional wedding and they didn’t get to have a wedding song and all that, but Julia said that unless they could have a wedding back in Russia for her folks, that she wasn’t really interested in celebrating her wedding a second time.
’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: Did Betty listen though? No.
The second they walked into Ron’s birthday party (which Julia said that she didn’t want to go to anyway because there were too many new people that she didn’t know and she has to really work to be able to speak english to all of them), half of the rec center was decorated for a party, and the other half was decorated for a wedding reception.
Brandon commented that the birthday party didn’t even really seem like it was for his Dad, rather, it was all for Betty. Julia said that it was annoying and that it showed that Betty has control issues. That it doesn’t really matter what Brandon and Julia want, that it only matters what Betty wants.
Brandon was asking Julia to grin and bear it, but in her confessional she said the only reason she did that was because Betty and Ron were not her parents and that Brandon was the one that needed to stand up to them.
Betty even went so far as to get them a second cake for their wedding and have the pastor that officiated their wedding get up and speak about it, saying that it was a really beautiful moment. The gesture was sweet, and would have been heart-warming if Brandon and Julia had wanted it, but Julia’s right, this was a control issue through and through.
Notice how the wedding was not officially celebrated until Betty wanted to celebrate it, and when Brandon tried to get up and tell his Mom that this is not what they wanted, Betty simply brushed off his feelings. She also said in the confessional that he was being rude and ungrateful and that Julia was trying to turn him against them–oh excuse me–her.

That’s when Julia took Brandon’s hand and left the party, she did say thank you for the party though, so there’s that. It seems like Betty is having trouble cutting the apron strings and wants her little boy back. Yike! Stay tuned!!!
