Vanessa Bryant has praised her late daughter, Gianna Bryant, after the latter sadly died alongside Vanessa’s husband, Kobe Bryant, in that tragic helicopter crash.

Gianna had her whole life to look forward to, which is why the news was such a difficult moment to contend with. And it has been made even more emotional recently, as it would have been Gianna’s 15th birthday. That has not stopped Vanessa from remembering her, though. In a post to her fans on Instagram, we can see a picture of Vanessa holding Gianna when she was younger.
The two are smiling as they both have matching sunglasses. The post was captioned by the following comments: “Dear Gianna, Happy 15th Birthday! I love you! I miss you every day! I wish you were here with us. There are no words to express how much I miss you. I love you, Mamacita!” On reflection, Gianna was very similar to Kobe.
The basketball player was known for his bright personality and his ability to inspire the next generation. Although Gianna was relatively young at the time of her sudden death, it did not mean that she was unaware about the importance of giving back to the community: far from it. A foundation has been set up in her name to continue helping the next generation of female athletes.
And Vanessa found the perfect way to do that. In another post to her fans on Instagram, we can see some custom made hoodies made in honour of Gianna’s foundation. They are pink, white and blue as they were reportedly colours which Gianna liked. Vanessa and her kids are wearing them as they sit besides each other.
The post included the following words: “100% of the proceeds[from the hoodie] will support the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation…which is dedicated to creating positive impact for underserved athletes and young women in sports.” It is truly remarkable to see Vanessa keeping herself together during her painful experience.
She serves as an inspiration for many people around the world, who have lost a loved one to tragic circumstances. There is no doubt that Kobe would be proud.
