‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ spoilers find that Delon De Metz spoke candidly with Soap Opera Digest about meeting his co-stars on the B&B set for the first time. So, did the ‘Mountain Men’ welcome him in with open arms and who did Delon feel that special, sexy chemistry with right away? Hint- it’s not who you may think!
Here’s the dish.
“Oh, she’s so pretty…and she has great eyes”. Delon didn’t mean to take away from Kiara Barnes’ (Zoe Buckingham) acting chops, but he did notice his co-star’s beauty from the jump.
He then realized “Whoa, this girl can act,” and kept his fingers crossed that he’d book the show after Kiara read with him for his audition, because he wanted a strong scene partner.

Meeting Kiara he knew the two would be able to “do some good work together” and complimented his soon-to-be-exiting scene partner as a strong and confident actress.
Delon went on to say he is learning a lot from Thorsten Kaye (Ridge Forrester). Delon gushed about Thorsten’s commanding presence both on the screen and on set and admitted to watching the 55 year old actor closely, from rehearsals, to prepping for scenes and getting into character.
“Even in his body language and how he conducts himself on set is something I took note of,” Delon said, speaking about when he began to share scenes with the pro.
Meeting Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan) was a big deal for Delon. “I asked her about everything,” he said. Not only has Katherine (or KKL, as Delon refers to his co-star) been on The Bold since day one, she also comes from Hollywood pedigree with her grandfather, Charles Lang once winning an Oscar for cinematography.
Coming from a very different background- finance in New York, Delon said he loves hearing about the soap veteran’s life growing up and her career, both on The Bold set and her outside projects.
“She is such a talented actress, and she is just stunning, but her storytelling is what I took away most,” is what Delon remembered from his first meeting with Katherine.
Delon bonded with Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy Forrester) on a more spiritual level. “She feels to me to be a kindred spirit,” he gushed of the beauty who is back on set now after her short maternity leave break.
The two have birthdays close to each other and though Delon admits he’s no astrologer, understands why the two Aries share similar attitudes and temperaments.
Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter Walton) is described by Delon as “a friendly giant.” Delon admits to bro-ing out with Lawrence on set as they both tap into their dorky, comic-book sides.
“He [Lawrence] has a nerd appeal you would not imagine. Every time he works out, I think he has Superman in his mind as a visualization,” Delon exclaimed.
But Delon has not had the same bonding experience with all the guys on set. Dubbing them ‘Mountain Men,” Delon admits to having little in common with Matthew Atkinson (Thomas Forrester) and Scott Clifton (Liam Spencer).
Delon laughed at how Matthew jokingly mocked his cocktail choice when the two went for drinks one day and admits that while Matthew and Scott are out doing their camping thing, the ex New Yorker is happy to be out at brunch, instead.
He compliments both the actors, however, on their friendliness saying Scott “has been very complimentary. He’s a cool guy” and on their acting skills saying Matthew’s “acting stood out to me from the get-go. He has a very natural style, which I like and I gravitate toward.”
He finished saying “I would love to spend more time with them on set and off.”
The other Bold veteran, working on the soap from the start, John McCook (Eric Forrester) took Delon under his wing, giving the young actor the “complete lowdown on the show.”
Delon credit’s John’s welcoming nature and assurance that the newest member of the B&B family was comfortable, for the success of his scenes with John.
Delon recalls how his mother was worried for her son to play against the veteran soap actor who is his character, Zende’s adoptive grandfather but assured Delon, “you stood there opposite him like you’d been there for 30 years.”
This was music to Delon’s ears as John was the cast member he felt he wanted to impress most.
After auditioning with Diamond White (Paris Buckingham) over Zoom, Delon stuck his neck out for the stunning actress, telling casting “I would really like to be able to play opposite her.”
Everything about Diamond impressed Delon from her edgy style to her strength as an actress and presence in a scene.
This is a huge plus, seeing as Delon’s character, Zende is currently dating Diamond’s character, Paris. However, even though the two sizzle on screen, Diamond is not the actress who Delon says he felt the most chemistry with.
In early scenes with Annika Noelle (Hope Logan), Delon admits to feeling some romantic chemistry between the two characters, Zende and Hope. “It was just fluid. We were just able to play ping-pong with each other.”
Of course, Delon knew of Annika and her work as Hope before joining the cast and was already impressed by the newly engaged actress.
Delon gushed about Annika’s beauty and poise and complimented how articulate she is. “But how she can turn on the tears and the drama is amazing!” he enthused. Another way he bonded with Annika was through their shared love of martial arts.
All in all, it sounds like Delon has really found his footing, and home, amongst his co-stars on the Bold and the Beautiful set. What do you think of Delon’s portrayal of Zende, which was originated by Daniel Smith as a child in 2001 before rapidly aging and returning with Rome Flynn at the helm.
