Shanna Moakler has defended her parenting after her children lashed out at her for not having a prominent role within their lives.
Shanna Moakler’s Kids Accuse Her Of Being A Bad Mother
The model, who was previously married to Travis Barker, has been co-parenting with the musician ever since their divorce ten years ago. While they have maintained harmony for the sake of their children, it seems that things are not so rosy on the inside as her children went on to remark. During a post on Instagram, Shanna’s daughter Alabama said: “My mom has never completely been in my life.
“Can you guys stop painting her out to be an amazing mom? Did your moms ask to see you on Mother’s Day [because] mine didn’t? I’m done keeping it a secret.” Shanna was hurt by the remarks and felt that she had no choice but to hit back. Her children accused her of being absent, unlike their father, Travis.
It is not a secret that the children have a better bond with Travis ,as they have often been pictured hanging out with him and Kourtney Kardashian’s children. Although they are teenagers and have their own lives, there is still a desire for them to get to know their mother. That is not how Shanna sees it, though. In an interview with Us Weekly, she stated: “Completely ridiculous… They’re teenagers.
“I don’t think they want to hang out with either of their parents at this point. I think they want to hang out with their friends and be teenagers.” That is counter to the narrative that the children have when it comes to Travis. He has continued to take a more hands-on approach, and Kourtney has taken to them by adopting a maternal role.
Even though this could lead to a feeling of animosity or jealousy, Shanna is completely fine with that. She just wants her children to be happy. She added: “As long as she’s great to my kids. I have no ill will toward anybody…My kids seem to really like her!” Let us hope that things between Shanna and her kids can improve. After all, it can only be a good thing, if Shanna spends more time with them.
