Samira Wiley And Lauren Morelli Secretly Welcomed Their Newborn Baby Last Month
In a post to her fans on Instagram, Samira shared a picture of their son they had secretly welcomed into their lives. The post was captioned by the following comments: “Happy first Mother’s Day to my beautiful wife, who four weeks ago today after labouring for almost three days, gave birth to our first child—our gorgeous daughter, George.
“Welcome to the world, baby girl. We love you.” It has been a remarkable journey for the couple ever since they married in 2017. And during the course of their relationship, the pair had been very vocal about how they wanted to start a family. Now they have finally gotten their wish, by all accounts, this could be the first of many.
In a similar post to her followers on Instagram, Lauren could not hide her delight at the news. She stated: “4 weeks ago today, our daughter came into the world and changed everything. We are so happy, so grateful, and so tired. George Elizabeth, 4.11.21.” Lauren, for her part, has been through a lot in her life. Her previous marriage to Steve Basilone ended in a bittersweet fashion.
Although they were married for two years, Lauren could no longer continue to be true to herself. She began to have doubts about her sexuality, and ultimately this led her to parting ways with Steve, as she identified as a lesbian. In an interview at the time, Lauren opened up on the struggles of accepting how she was feeling.
She revealed: “I no longer feel like I am stuck in the middle of two truths. I belong because [of] my own narrative…stories of people finding themselves, of difficult paths and of redemption.” It will be fascinating to see how the duo handle the challenges of motherhood. While it is their first child, they have the opportunity to face that together.
There is no doubt that they will have plenty of challenges coming their way, but it provides an opportunity to forge some memories that will last a lifetime. And we wish them the best with that.
