‘Real Housewives of New York’: Luann de Lesseps Opens Up On How Dorinda Medley Brought ‘Negative Energy’ To The Show

The latter has, since then, departed from the franchise. But her journey has still left people suffering the consequences of her actions. During an interview with Us Weekly, Luann spoke on how the show’s vibe shifted after Dorinda’s departure. She said: “[This season] was a little less angry. I hate to say it because there was a lot of anger and a lot of [negativity], and I love Dorinda.

“It’s just the way it panned out. With the [Tinsley Mortimer] thing, it was kind of a negative energy.” So what caused Dorinda and Tinsley to fall out? Well, Dorinda had brutally shaded Tinsley’s desire to have children. This was made much worse, given Tinsely’s constant fertility issues. Such a tough period would require the support of friends and family, but Dorinda merely mocked Tinsley with the following comment.

She stated: “I’ve got a turkey baster — maybe try and have a baby.” Naturally, that did not go down too well. And Tinsely made sure that Dorinda knew she was not having any of it. She replied: “We were actually friends at one point. I am shamed for wanting a child. I am shamed for not having one.” With the friendship over, how did the wider cast members take to it?

Even the show’s host, Andy Cohen, was inadvertently dragged into the conservation. This was because his baby had been conceived as a result of IVF. And Tinsley asked whether Dorinda would have the same attitude towards the host’s struggles to have kids. Although Dorinda did apologise for her actions, there does not seem to be much remorse coming her way.

In a previous interview with Us Weekly, she revealed: “Obviously, we didn’t end well, but I never really saw Tinsley when we weren’t filming. You always wish you’d handled these things better, but you know what, as I always say, that’s how I was feeling at the time.” It is safe to say that Dorinda and Tinsely will not be reuniting anytime soon.
