The pair were engaged on a royal visit to the Violence Reduction Unit in Scotland which helps youths overcome violent aggression through music. While their primary concern was hearing the youths’ grievances, as well as the work that the foundation does, Kate could not help but show off her music skills.
In the video, we can see Kate and the DJ cooking up a tune. The sound did not go down well with Kate as she covered her ears. But to top it all off, William made sure he had the last word. He was heard saying: “What’s that? It sounds like a cat. Please turn that off. It’s hurting my ears.” This latest visit is seen as part of a broader attempt to modernise the royal family.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview on CBS divided the public, with an overwhelming number of people feeling that the Royal family posed more harm than good. In response, William and Kate decided to shift tactics by setting up their own YouTube channel. And it seems, this effort on embracing technology is the way that the couple will relate to ordinary people.
Not only that, but this visit also falls in line with William’s stance on Harry’s approach to tackling mental health. William has reportedly expressed his disapproval at how Harry was exposing the family’s private lives in front of the media. William and Kate, though, have decided on taking positive action instead to address real issues by not focusing on their own problems.
But that was not the only reason for the couple to make this visit. Scotland has a very special place in William’s heart for the following reasons. William was in Scotland when he found out about the tragic news that his mother, Princess Diana, had died in a car crash.
In addition, it was also the country in which William came across Kate- who we know now would go on to become his future wife. Time will tell whether William and Kate become more relatable with the public, but if this musical performance is anything to go by, then it can only show what we all know: Kate should not focus on music.
