Maria Menounos Announces Her Mother’s Passing Following Her Long-Term Battle With Cancer

In a post to her fans on Instagram, Maria shared a picture of herself and her mother lying next to each other. The post was captioned by the following comments: “RIP, mom. God loved her so much he took her on greek easter.” Maria is all too aware of the battle associated with cancer. She notoriously had a brain tumour removed in 2017.

Luckily for her, doctors managed to detect it right from the outset. But things became much more difficult during the pandemic. At the back end of last year, Maria’s parents were taken to hospital after suffering from covid. Throughout it all, Maria continued to remain positive and vowed that her mother would overcome her cancer battle.

In a previous interview on Live With Kelly And Ryan, Maria revealed how her mother did not let the cancer affect her daughter’s life. She said: “I [asked], ‘Mom, is it okay if I go do Kelly and Ryan tomorrow? Are you okay with that?’ And she goes, ‘Yes.’ And she said it so fast, and she wasn’t even speaking up until then.” This love was reciprocated during Litsa’s final birthday with the family together.

And the despair of the cancer seemed to disappear during those precious moments. During a previous post to her fans on Instagram, Maria shared a throwback picture with her mother as it appears they are cooking together. They are having a wonderful time, given the smiles on their faces. The post was captioned by the following: “Happy birthday, my beautiful mama!

“I am moved and inspired by your fearlessness… Mom, I love you more than words can express. I will fight for you and with you every day. I pray god gives us many more years.” Although it was her final birthday, the memories that the two have shared will last a lifetime. Let us hope Maria takes some time for herself in order to fully heal.

We wish her the best, and her fans will be there every step of the way to make sure that she is ok. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
