Netflix’s ‘Army of the Dead’ has made quite the splash the last few days as it hit the streaming service. The film stars Dave Bautista in the leading role as an ex-mercenary who leads a ragtag group into a zombie-infested Las Vegas to pull off the greatest heist of all time.
Of course, things don’t go as planned, and the zombies in the film aren’t you’re typical George Romero zombies. These, are smart zombies that have social structures and are able to communicate to an extent. It was an interesting take on the zombie genre, and viewers seemed to have enjoyed it. I know I did.
The entire film included Snyder‘s unique style, including the opening sequence. He’s done this for her previous films, like ‘Dawn of the Dead’ and ‘Watchmen’ and it’s become a bit of a staple of Snyder’s films. Learn his process for the openings in the video below from Netflix Film Club.
