David Eigenberg Signs On to the Sex and the City Reboot!

David Eigenberg, who played Miranda Hobbs‘, (Cynthia Nixon) baby-daddy and eventual husband on HBO’s Sex and the City just shared that he has received the call!

The actor, who currently stars on NBC’s Chicago Fire has confirmed that he will be reprising the role of everyone’s favorite bar owner, Steve Brady for the upcoming HBO Max revival of the iconic television series title “And Just Like That…”

Another Ex-Cast Member to Sign On to the Sex and the City Reboot

“They’ve been wonderful and I’m very excited to see Miss Cynthia Nixon in her portrayal of Miranda and also their son Brady Brady.” Eigenberg told Daily Pop today. He went on to laugh about his on-screen son, who was born while his parents were not a couple and had taken his mother’s last name. “We never established whether he was Brady Hobbs or Brady Brady Hobbs or Brady Hobbs Brady.”

When asked what his storyline will center around, Eigenberg laughingly told the hosts he was NOT the man in the know. Eigenberg could only speculate as to whether his reel family would still in one piece, saying “I’m really hoping to see that we’re all going to be together.”

And just like that… Steve Brady will be back on our screens!

During the two movies that were spawned from the series after it ended in 2004, Miranda and Steve separated but later reconciled.

Shortly after the HBO Max revival was announced, rumors circulated that Chris Noth, Carrie Bradshaw’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) main squeeze and eventual husband refused to return to his Mr. Big role.

However Noth himself responded to disheartened fans on his social media, urging them to not believe everything the gossip sites say.

We would take offence, but we are too excited to see if that means Noth is stepping back into those Big shoes. So far he has neither confirmed or denied that he will be joining the rebooted cast.

Another actor whose star has been on the rise since he appeared not once, but twice on the long running series–in two different roles–is Justin Theroux.

When asked if he’d be interested in reprising one of the previous characters, writer Vaughn, with a ‘premature’ problem or another writer, Jared–one of New York’s top 30 under 30–with an ego problem, Theroux immediately said yes!

“Yeah, of course I would love to. If they wanted to have me, I’d do Sex and The City again.” Theroux even told E! News he’d be happy to take on a third character but then joked he has received, “no email from Sarah Jessica” yet.

While I’m loving David Eigenberg’s news, my heart still belongs to Jerry “Smith” Jerrod (Jason Lewis). However, without his ex-girlfriend Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) coming back, it’s hard to say why Smith would be there…but we’re sure the writers could figure that out!
