Jinger Duggar has spoken about the struggles that she went through with her appearance during the onset of her teenage years.

Jinger has been vocal about how conscientious she was over her weight, but it seems it was more than just superficial, as things were very serious at one point. And the expectation to look a certain way ultimately got the better of her. In an interview with Us Weekly, Jinger was very frank about how she had questioned her image.
She said: “The wrestling was with my weight and my body image, even though I was very in shape and I didn’t need to lose weight. I felt like I needed to.” Those issues have continued to stay with her. Unlike other stars, who may have been afraid to open up, Jinger was anything but that. She relied heavily on the support of her husband, Jeremy Vuolo. He is all too aware of the pressures of being in the public eye. After all, he was a soccer player.
She added: “I talked to Jeremy. He knows about that, of course…I wanted others to be able to see that they’re not alone and that there are answers.” And with time, she has managed to deal with those issues much better. Jinger, for her part, has been through a lot recently. Her brother Josh Duggar had been arrested on the grounds he had engaged in actives related to child pornography.
While it is clearly a difficult time for the family, she is a firm believer in Christianity. This has allowed her to remain strong. And with that, she has learnt to take things as they come. She continued: “I think it’s something that I feel like I have really just found my identity in Christ and, like, realizing, ‘OK, I don’t have to measure up. Everybody will look in the mirror at some point…I just …get back on track.”
It is nice to see Jinger sharing her experiences with many others, when she was not obliged to do so. It will serve as an example to other people, that they can overcome their own insecurities.
