Scheana Shay has hit back at trolls, who have criticized her appearance as she waits for the impending birth of her child.

The star was accused of resorting to artificial methods in an attempt to enhance her beauty rather than accepting the changes that come with pregnancy. One user on Instagram wrote: “Imagine your baby came out with lips like that or even wanting to change their own. What would you say to him or her? Come on! Use your platform to make a world better than you. Ego-driven fool.”
Such comments were harsh, given that Scheana had not undergone any cosmetic procedures, or at least that is what she said: “Let me assure you that the only needle to touch my face in the last nine months is from my acupuncturist. P.S. I’d love if my baby has big lips, and it looks like she does.” Scheana announced her pregnancy at the back end of last year with her lover Brock Davies.
Such news should have come as an excitement, not just to her family but to most people at large. The reaction on social media was anything but that. This caused her mother, Erika van Olphen, to hit out at Scheana’ critics, who felt she was seeking a baby merely for attention. Erika said: “First of all, if you truly knew Scheana and or followed her on her YouTube channel, you would know that she has struggled with fertility for years.
“After waiting over a month, to our surprise, she got pregnant again. Yes, she was scared but so very grateful!!” It seems Scheana cannot get a break in life. People forget that she had tragically had a miscarriage, followed by a long period in which she questioned whether she could ever have children. Given it was her desire to start a family, there was continuous pressure, and naturally that strained her relationship.
So when the news of the pregnancy came, it was only normal for Scheana to be over the moon. Sadly, this was mistaken for over-enthusiasm as well as attention-seeking. Let us hope that the birth goes ahead, safe and well.
