The Bachelor may be moving on following the departure of Chris Harrison, but that has not ended the drama.
‘The Bachelor’: Chris Harrison’s Departure Has Left ‘A Different Vibe’ On Set
Chris had been a host on the franchise for over a decade, and his sudden departure has left a big gaping hole. Although Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe have been brought in for some extra vigour, there is a feeling that things will never be the same. Sources have confirmed as much: “There were a lot of very last-minute changes.
“It’s a different vibe. Chris was the glue that holds it together. He’s like the father figure to everybody. He’s someone everybody knows and respects and truly loves.” It seems Chris had a huge influence throughout the set and beyond. This was most evident in the reaction to his departure. A subset of the fanbase questioned why Chris had to walk away, when bigger scandals had occurred.
Take, for example, Hannah Brown. Her use of the N-word was arguably just as bad, if not worse. And yet, she continues to speak freely on the franchise without fear of reprisal. This inconsistently has led to disharmony behind the scenes. The source added: “Some crew have been with him since the beginning, so it’s just a weird feeling not having him around after almost 20 years of working with him.
“People might not realize how involved he is with filming, but he plays a huge role on the show and behind [the] scenes. He’s on set 24/7 and keeps everything together.” That is why Chris helped the news hosts. He was on set to make sure that they were fully integrated into the setup and answer any questions that they may have had. There was no obligation on Chris to do this. After all, the show hardly showed him support.
They simply had chosen to throw him under the bus. An insider stated just how opposite Tayshia and Kaitlyn were: “He was interacting and mingling with everybody because he knew a lot of people. It’s different just having the women as co-hosts since they don’t know everyone as well.” With continual rumours surrounding the future of the show, it is up to Tayshia and Kaitlyn to bring something new.
