Can’t it be like this all the time? Prince William and Prince Harry managed to keep things civil during their grandfather Prince Phillip’s funeral on Saturday, allowing the world the let out a major sigh of relief.
The two brothers have reportedly been feuding for years now, or ever since Meghan Markle entered the picture. Here’s what you need to know.
Following Prince Philip’s service Saturday morning, the estranged siblings walked and talked together alongside Kate Middleton as they made their way out of St. George’s Chapel.
Prince William And Prince Harry Kept Things Civil During Prince Philip’s Funeral
This comes after both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seemingly threw the entire royal family under the bus in their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which they suggested that there was a racist behind palace doors. Here’s what you need to know.
The day began when Harry, 36, and William, 38, marched in the royal procession solemnly, but not side-by-side, with their arms rigidly at their sides. The two were also separated during the 50-minute church service.
But apparently, this is how Harry and William wanted it, as they didn’t want the spotlight put on them during their grandfather’s funeral. The day was about Prince Philip, and not them.
“They know it is not about them on Saturday – it is about honoring their grandfather’s memory and supporting their grandmother,” a royal source told The Daily Telegraph. “I would be extremely surprised if that wasn’t front and center of both their minds. They will be keen to spend time together as a family, in the same time zone for once.”
Now, whether or not Prince William and Prince Harry will continue to keep things civil, remains to be seen. Reports say that the Duke of Sussex is desperate to get back home to California to be with his pregnant with Meghan, and their son, Archie Harrison.
