Nina Dobrev’s romance with Shaun White could be about to get more serious with rumours that the duo could get engaged.
Is Nina Dobrev About To Get Engaged?
The couple began dating each other around a year ago, and the process of quarantining has brought them ever-more closer. An insider told Us Weekly: “Nina and Shaun are very happy together at the moment. [It] wouldn’t be surprised if an engagement is around the corner.” Nina, for her part, is aware of things going wrong given her prior relationship history.
She had previously dated Ian Somerhalder as they met on the set of The Vampire Diaries. Unlike their on-screen chemistry, they eventually split up after Nina did not see her life in the same way as Ian. This may have been, in part, because of their 10-year age gap at the time. However, she has put those experiences behind her.
The insider added: “Nina has had a lot of relationships not work out in the past, but ever since meeting Shaun, you can tell she’s just really excited about how far this relationship has come.” And it seems they have many things in common, despite being from different worlds. Shaun is a professional snowboarder and has won an impressive three Olympic gold medals.
Nina, in contrast, is an actress looking to navigate her way through the Hollywood industry. But their passion for taking risks has brought them together. The insider continued: “They’re both adventure seekers [and] love the outdoors. [She is] drawn to his athleticism and loves the fact that he’s been helping her with her snowboarding skills.”
This was most evident during Valentine’s day when the couple were taking on the waves together. In a post to her fans on Instagram at the time, we can see Nina jumping on Shaun’s back as he is running into the water.
They are clearly having a great time amid the waves. The post was captioned by the following comments: “My favourite snow cone flavour is White. Happy we got ‘stuck together’ last year and stuck it out ? happy valentine’s day to my quarantine in crime.”
