Vanessa Lachey has shared the secrets to her successful marriage with her husband, Nick Lachey.

It seems spontaneity has been the key to their success. In an interview with Us Weekly, she revealed how the unexpected has kept Nick on his toes. She said: “It’s always a secret to any marriage. Anytime that you can find spontaneous intimacy with your partner, I think, is a go! It will never backfire on you. [Our kids] don’t [get grossed out when we kiss], thankfully. I’ve tried to make it a point to show affection.”
They began dating in 2006, and despite some rocky moments—which included a split—they have continued to go on strong. The pandemic has been a blessing in disguise as it has provided the opportunity to spend more time together when they both would be, otherwise, preoccupied with work commitments. Other celebrities, in comparison, have suffered during the pandemic.
We only have to look at Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez. The two had just split up recently, but reports are now circulating that this may not be the case. In addition, their time in therapy was well documented, even though a wedding was on the cards. Thankfully, Vanessa is not suffering from such problems.
She added: “It [has] made us stronger, and I’m grateful for that — to not only stay connected to each other but to find time to connect with family and friends. And he’s reached out a lot more to people and as have I. It’s been a great balance that we’ve had to kind of reevaluate, you know.”
This blossoming effect has also brushed off on Nick. He has taken on a bigger role in facilitating the care of their children. And Vanessa does not seem to mind one bit. She continued: “He was like, ‘I really do like performing,’ but he’s also seen how great it is to have this time with the kids. I think for all of us, most parents are like, ‘Look, I’m glad that we get to have quality time.”
It was fascinating to see Vanessa being so open, but let us hope that her comments do not come back to haunt her.
