In the world of the Marvel universe, the last time we saw most of our favorite heroes, they were being annihilated by Thanos. For about five years, there were billions of people that disappeared and many thought that they were dead.
Captain America was one of them and even though, the Falcon, Sam Wilson, a character portrayed by Anthony Mackie, was able to salvage his shield, he has some bad feelings about what is yet to come for the Avengers. This show begins with Sam back at work and soaring through the sky and the Marvel action is better than ever!
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Life Has Changed
The Avengers lost a lot of important people in their lives and now that Sam is pretty much alone, he knows that one of his close friends, Bucky Barnes, played by Sebastian Stan, the Winter Soldier, did survive and he continues to reach out to him.
Bucky, who is trying to make amends for all of his wrongs, has been avoiding Sam’s calls and texts and even his therapist urges him to work on making better friendships. He is all alone and it shows. Bucky is also trying to get over the fact that Captain America is gone and he is pretty sure that he will never return.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Disney+’s New Hit
In the premiere episode, “New World Order”, Sam gives Captain America’s shield to the Smithsonian Museum in D.C. He adds it to the dedication to him there, but he doesn’t feel right about it.
After the end of the episode, we find out why. Sam returns to Louisiana to help out his sister and nephews and he sees that she is in some bad debt. The last five years, she lost everything and is trying to get it all back.
The apocalypse took its toll on her and her fishing business is struggling. Sam wants to help her, but we can see that the banks they go to have some issues of their own to work out.
Bucky continues to have nightmares about what he did when he was the Winter Soldier and he has made friends with a local man and they end up having lunch together day after day. He meets a young woman at the restaurant and ends up asking her out.
They’re having a great time, but he realizes that he is the one that killed his friend’s son. Things are very blurry for Bucky and this show will give us a better image of him and we will be able to see how he overcomes his guilt and grief.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier are both grieving for the death of their best friend, Steve Rogers and it will be tough for them to make it through. This show will give us insight on where Marvel wants to go next with the Avengers and with the characters that survived after Thanos.
