‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Diamond White (Paris Buckingham) Has Packed 50 Years of Work Into Her 22 years of Life!

‘The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B)’ spoilers find than fans fell for “newcomer” Diamond White (Paris Buckingham) from the day she appeared on our screens. But what most Bold fans don’t know is that Diamond has already had a huge career before landing the plum role on the CBS soap.

Speaking with Soap Opera Digest, Diamond thanked her mother and late grandfather for believing in her so much so that they would drive her from their home in Detroit to New York for auditions.  At only eight years old, chanteuse Diamond landed a role in the Chicago production of The Color Purple and it was here she truly fell in love with both acting and singing.

It was also during the opening of The Color Purple where Diamond met her ‘Godmother’ (or at least, that’s what she’d been told), Oprah Winfrey. Laughing, Diamond recalled, “On one of the opening nights, I ran up to [producer] Oprah and I was like, ‘Did you know that you were my godmother?’ and she goes, ‘Oh, I didn’t know,’ and then she grabbed me and hugged me and we took a photo together. It was amazing.”

This was just the start of stage performances for Diamond, who went on The Lion King’s run in Las Vegas then, in 2012, earned herself a spot on The X Factor. Diamond equates her naivety at age 12 for the fearlessness she felt coming up against notorious judge Simon Cowell. “I still can’t believe it,” she admits, ”I don’t know how little me got onstage and did that. I would have peed myself now but back then, I was definitely down for that.”

Diamond placed fifth on the show which in turned opened up more doors, like working with Tyler Perry (who she has dubbed her honorary godfather) in the Halloween Madea movies and then onto Empire. Diamond played stage-fright stricken singer, Lala in the show’s final season, a role she finally got after many auditions throughout Empire’s run.

So, how did she end up at Forrester Creations?  Diamond says reading for the role of Paris was exciting because when she auditioned, “Paris wasn’t really anything more than an idea and I think that’s kind of why I got it. The breakdown was very vague and I was like, ‘Let me bring in my insight and bring in who I think this character is,’ and that’s what attracted me, that I got to make Paris my playground and build her. I was really excited for that.”

Of course, recently we’ve heard Paris’ stunning singing voice when she serenaded Zende Forrester-Dominguez (Delon De Metz) and caroled at Christmas for the rest of the Forrester clan. Though acting is currently Diamond’s main focus right now, she hasn’t lost sight of her music and released her first digital collection of songs, titled Tomorrow. “I’m definitely a singer who acts,” she told SOD. “Singing has always been my first love.”

If that wasn’t enough, Diamond will be lending her vocal talents to playing Lunella Lafayette/Moon Girl in Disney Channel’s highly anticipated animated series, Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, slated to premiere in 2022.

Sounds exhausting! But Diamond loves the challenges, and we love Diamond! Catch her as the enigmatic Paris Buckingham on B&B, weekdays on CBS!
