Nikki Glaser admitted reaching out to Matt James in the aftermath of the latter’s ordeal on The Bachelor.

In an interview on the This is Paris podcast, Nikki stated how she sent Matt a DM after watching him on the show. She said: “I think I DM’d the Bachelor. Matt James. I DM’d him before I knew what happened with the whole thing because I was watching The Bachelor, and he reunited with his father.” And it seems Nikki has a soft for Matt.
Matt will have no shortage of takers, given that his romance with Rachael Kirkconnell is over and unlikely to be rekindled. By the sounds of it, Nikki is ready to step in and was not shy in admitting that. She added: “I assumed he was with someone at this point in the show. I just wrote him being, like, ‘That was the sweetest thing ever,’ but also leaving the door open of, also, ‘If you didn’t find the one, I’m here. DMs are open.”
So did she get a response? Not yet, but given that she has aired it publicly for the first time, it may force Matt to respond. It was not a case of Matt ignoring her or even not being interested in her. It was just a case of the message not being read. She continued: “[He] didn’t read it yet. [I’m] not embarrassed by my slide. There was nothing [bad]. [It’s] me just saying, ‘That was really sweet. I’m happy for you.”
Despite the clear interest in Matt, he is hardly in any condition to be dating. He has had enough on his plate to deal with, and jumping straight into another relationship would merely work against him. After all, how could he justify it. Rachael was meant to be one, prior to the whole scandal breaking out.
Not only that, Matt has suffered abuse on social media over how he conducted his love life, and another relationship is not going to stop that. Sources confirmed that Matt is, for the time being, focusing on himself. An insider said: “Matt broke up with her to protect himself. It came at a bit of a shock to Rachael.”
