‘The Bachelor’ spoilers find that fans of the franchise have seen it all when it comes to season 25 of The Bachelor. There has been relentless bullying, toxic living arrangements, weird editing of contestants out of the Women Tell All special, racism allegations and the ‘suspension’ of long time host Chris Harrison.
And then, after lead Matt James prematurely said goodbye to fan favorite Michelle Young, he decided to NOT propose to his final lady, Rachael Kirkconnell.

The point of The Bachelor is to end the “journey” with an engagement but it’s not an obligation. Matt isn’t the first one to not put a ring on it. In fact the first ever Bachelor, Alex Michel left without proposing to his final lady, Amanda Marsh but instead asked her to keep dating. They lasted a year.
Of course, Alex, and the other eight men and one woman to not get engaged in their final episodes didn’t force Neil Lane to quarantine for two weeks before not getting the guy a sweet commission!
Ordinarily, a season not ending in an engagement would upset viewers (and diamond ring hawker, Neil Lane), but that wasn’t necessarily the case for the finale of The Bachelor Quarter quell.
For the entire season, fans had hoped but knew it was unlikely that Matt would choose a different one of his final four women- Michelle, Bri Springs or Serena Pitt, who, in a role reversal, actually sent Matt packing.
If Matt had not extended the ring to one of those three, he would likely been as vilified as when Juan Pablo Galvais gave the rose, but no diamond to his final choice, Nikki Ferrell and told her that he liked her…a lot.
While the lack of an engagement was a shock to viewers, most fans took to social media to express delight that, though Matt did choose the controversy-ridden Rachael, he didn’t make the deep commitment.
Of course, after the two hour finale ended, fans stayed glued to their screens to see the status of Matt and Rachael’s relationship-post controversies-when they sat down with Emmanuel Acho to give an update on After the Final Rose.
