Michelle Obama is encouraging U.S. citizens from one coast to the next to get their ‘shot’ in the arm. Here’s what she has to say.
Sharing a photo of herself getting her shot in the arm (with a mask on, of course), the former First Lady of the United States wrote on her Instagram account, “When you can get the COVID-19 vaccine, I hope you do—Barack Obama and I are certainly glad we did. It’s our best shot at beating this virus, looking out for one another, and getting back to some of the things we miss. Getting vaccinated will save lives—and that life could be yours.”

Of course, it didn’t take very long for Michelle Obama’s fans to comment on her photo. Many of them wrote, “That vax is so lucky to go into such an iconic arm,” along with, “You’ve always been such a great inspiration. My forever FLOTUS.”
Back in November, Michelle Obama said that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ win is just the beginning. Acknowledging the millions of people who have taken to the streets to dance and celebrate Joe and Kamala’s win, the former First Lady says there is still a lot of work to do in the coming weeks, months, and of course years.
She said, “Let’s remember that this is just a beginning. It’s a first step. Voting in one election isn’t a magic wand, and neither is winning one. Let’s remember that tens of millions of people voted for the status quo, even when it meant supporting lies, hate, chaos, and division. We’ve got a lot of work to do to reach out to these folks in the years ahead and connect with them on what unites us.”
Michelle Obama added, “But we’ve also got to recognize that the path to progress will always be uphill. We’ll always have to scrape and crawl up toward that mountaintop. And two years from now, four years from now, there will once again be no margin for error. We see now the reality that we can’t take even the tiniest part of our democracy for granted. Every single vote must count — and every single one of us must vote. And as a country, we should be making it easier, not harder to cast a ballot.”
