Some people are calling it a problem, while other people are calling it an extended vacation. It looks like The Talk is going to be off the air for another week as the CBS network has just extended their hiatus because of their Sharon Osbourne controversy.
As many fans know by now, Sharon got into a heated exchange with her co-host Sheryl Underwood over Meghan Markle’s Oprah Winfrey interview.
It all began when Sharon defended her friend Piers Morgan, who has stated that he doesn’t believe Meghan and her claim that she experienced suicidal thoughts while she was still a full-time working member of the royal family.
CBS Pulls The Talk Off The Air For Another Week Following Sharon Osbourne Controversy
CBS pressed the pause button on The Talk with Sharon got into an emotional debate with Shery over Piers and the legitimacy of the claims made by Meghan.
According to People Magazine now, the show was due back this week, but the network has decided to extend the hiatus through at least next week as it continues to look into Sharon’s behavior.
During their heated battle on air, Sheryl noted that “while you are standing by you your friend, it appears that you are giving validation or safe haven to something that he has uttered that is racist.” Among his most incendiary remarks, Piers Morgan said he did not believe Meghan Markle’s suicidal thoughts.
“I feel like I’m about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend who many people think is racist, so that makes me a racist,” Sharon said, before asking Sheryl to be precise about how her friend Piers Morgan has been racist.
Sharon Osbourne apologized for her comments last week, saying, “I am truly sorry. I panicked, felt blindsided, got defensive & allowed my fear and horror of being accused of being racist take over.”
However, she has also stated that she feels as though she’s been thrown under the bus by the producers of the show and that she was also set up by her co-hosts.
