Heather Martin has explained why she entered The Bachelor in a white minivan, much to the bemusement of everyone else.

When speaking to her fans on Instagram, she could not help but reveal all. In the picture, she is alongside the van and it was captioned with the following comments: “When you pull up to the rental car place, and they ask if you want a minivan [sic] the answer is always yes. So, I just have to say, I legitimately pulled up to the rental car place and I don’t know if they didn’t have any other cars, but they’re just like, ‘So, is a minivan OK?
“And of course, I didn’t think twice, and I was like, ‘Yeah, I’d love a minivan.’ I didn’t realize until later that was a weird thing.” And once on the show, Matt James revealed how he knew Heather through one of their mutual friends. He told the Here for the Right Reasons podcast the following:
“I have met Heather before [but] I had no relationship with her. But she does have a relationship with one of my good friends Hannah Brown. I was just as shocked to see her as everyone else was when she arrives, and I think it makes for a very interesting conversation.” But the drama continued as she arrived after Matt had introduced himself to all the contestants. So what did Matt think of it?
He added: “I tried to be empathetic to that because I would be upset if new women came when I was part of this journey. And you have all these newcomers [who are] very attractive, educated — everything that you would want in someone that you’re looking for, you see come through the door, five more, and I can see how that can be frustrating. [But] I think there’s a certain way that you should deal with that frustration.”
And the executive of the show Robert Mills had planned on bringing more arrivals which meant more drama. He told Variety: “We got a record number of submissions. We couldn’t fit everyone in night one, and we had some really interesting girls. These were women that we had already met with. It was decided pretty much before filming began [that they would join later]. It was good to throw them in the mix. It wasn’t just to shake things up.”
