Speculation has been running rampant about JoJo Siwa’s intentions behind the viral, LGBTQ-positive TikTok video she posted this week.
In the video the 17-year-old Dance Moms alum and YouTube star was dancing to Lady Gaga’s LGBTQ anthem ‘Born This Way’ and mouthing the lyrics, “No matter gay, straight, or bi, lesbian, transgender life, I’m on the right track baby, I was born to survive.”
Her thousands of fans suspected this was Jojo’s very Jojo way of coming out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and she was praised by fellow YouTube influencers James Charles, Colleen Ballinger and Nikkie de Jager. Jojo’s brother, Jayden Siwa also commented on her the video saying, “So happy for you JoJo!! Love you!”
Youtuber Jojo Siwa has just come out- to the delight of her fans.
If that wasn’t a bold enough announcement, Jojo posted a far more definitive message to Twitter. She shared a photo of herself wearing the shirt she was gifted by her cousin. The shirt reads ‘Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever.’

Positive reactions and praise poured in, with the photo garnering over 300 000 likes in just hours. Jojo became a trending topic on the social media platform, with fans excited for the bubbly teen with her signature bows to speak her truth. They also acknowledged how her coming out will positively affect young queer fans and their families.
JoJo Siwa coming out on her own terms so publicly and with such joy is SO significant. She is a 17 year old international sensation with young fans all over the world who will see themselves in her, many of whom will be queer. I’m so so happy for her and them ♥️🏳️🌈

The 17-year-old’s brand is all about being a good, and authentic role model for her hundreds of thousand followers.
“I’m genuine, I am who I am. And, you know, I’m not fake in any which way,” she once told E! News. “I just live my life and that really shows when I’m creating YouTube videos, creating music, whatever I’m doing, it’s truly who I am.”
She is certainly living up to expectations! Congrats on living your truth out loud, Jojo!
