Do you know what we need? More celebrity boxing matches… well, we’re getting more anyway. 2x-NBA champion is entering the ring and he’ll be fighting this summer.
The 41-year-old star has made a deal with Celebrity Boxing and will be at the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey on June 12. He currently doesn’t have an opponent. However, Celebrity Boxing creator Damon Feldman says he’s working on a big-name celebrity to enter the ring against Odom.

Lamar had attempted a basketball comeback and was a part of Ice Cube’s Big3 League, however, more recently, he has turned his attention to boxing. Hopefully, he’ll have a better outcome than the last basketball player to enter the ring.
Surprisingly, Lamar Odom isn’t the only big name on the card that night as it’d also been reported that child-star and musician Aaron Carter will be fighting. However, he also doesn’t have an opponent yet.
These enormous celebrity fights have really taken off in the last few years. While it’s always been a thing, it seems like our culture now is primed for it, and something about seeing a YouTuber get socked a few times is relaxing for some people. It’s an odd thing going on. I remember these being mostly for charity or to raise awareness for something. Now though, it’s just another paycheck for these celebrities and an ego boost.
