Katie Conrad and Derek Sherman on season 10 of the Lifetime show, when experts thought the duo will be compatible for many reasons. Katie and Derek seemed to have a lot of chemistry when they were paired, but it turned out that she was hiding something from Derek.
Katie was still hung up on her ex, and it was an issue. The MAFS star had the “what if” in her head even when she was married to Derek. Also, she didn’t like the fact that her husband was a dreamer, and she used to lash at him over this.
Derek was genuinely nice and patient with her. On decision day, the duo decided to be with each other, but by the reunion, they wanted out. Katie date her ex again, but it did not last.

Katie Conrad started dating hr new man,Brandon, an Air Force Captain, and showed him off in May 2020. Katie and Brandon met on Hinge, a dating app.
Her divorce was not finalized by then, and when it was finalized, Derek went out to celebrate. By Christmas, Brandon popped the question and Katie said yes. She took to Instagram to announce her engagement.
On Instagram, Katie wrote, “If you told me at the beginning of 2020 that this was how it would end, I’d never believe you. This year brought me my best friend, my person, the love of my life, and the person I’ll continue to choose forever.”
As for her ex husband, Derek, his last post on Instagram was right before Christmas and it was related to charity. The MAFS star was doing holiday calls with fans and all the money he raised was going to a local food bank.
Derek poked fun in his post at marrying a stranger and how what he was doing was the good thing that came out of it. The reality show star seemed happy and unbothered by everything. People heal differently.
