Alec Baldwin has responded to the backlash faced by his wife Hilaria Baldwin over her purported Spanish heritage by pulling out all the stops on her 37th birthday party.
Alec Baldwin: Actor Throws Birthday Party For Hilaria After She Received Recent Backlash
The Hollywood actor posted an emotional message on Instagram: “Happy birthday to the love of my life. To the only person in the world who brings me joy and peace every day. The person who is my Home. My everything.”But this is more than just a birthday message.
It is not hard to forget the torrid time Hilaria has been experiencing, and Alec will naturally be looking to raise her spirits. An insider told People: ‘They celebrated New Year’s in the Hamptons. While Hilaria has seemed a bit upset, Alec has been around to comfort her. He has been supportive and has tried to cheer her up.”
As much as Alec has made efforts to put out the bursting flames that are ever blowing on Hilaria’s reputation, what has the former yoga teacher done in the meantime? By all accounts, an attempted publicity move.
Hilaria blamed some of her gaffs on her agency CAA and Hola magazine for mistakenly referring to her as Spanish following an interview with the New York Times. In clarifying the situation, she said:“Home is where my parents are going to be. If my parents move to China, I am going to go to China and say, I’m going home.”
And yet, for all that Alec has done, the actor also played a part in this saga. The 62-year-old appeared on the Lettermen show in 2013, and it looks as though his previous comments may not be doing him any favours soon.
When speaking to Lettermen, he said: “My wife is from Spain.” Did it stop there? No, as Alec repeated as much only two months ago, when he appeared on the Aaron and Rohit show. So will this die down anytime soon?
Well, that is what Hilaria and Alec will be hoping for. Since the recent revelations, Hilaria has ,to her credit, cleared things up. She has openly revealed that she was born in Beacon Hill, Boston and grew up there until her parents moved to Spain in 2011. If only Hilaria could have made it this simple from the start.
