2020 hasn’t been anyone’s year, but the Washington Football Team has had an extra-odd year. After dropping the name Redskins that they’ve had since 1933, they were then forced to go without a name after a man purchased the rights to several names and stressed for time, they went with The Washington Football Team.
They then saw some light recently when Alex Smith returned from an incredible journey from a broken leg to win four straight games. Things were looking up for Washington, however, team owner Dan Snyder is now calling out the team’s minority owners claiming that they extorting him in hopes that he’ll back out of the franchise.
Snyder filed a declaration saying Dwight Schar has been threatening to leak information relating to sexual misconduct allegations made by former employees.

Snyder also claims Schar had said to Snyder’s attorney that he had a bombshell that would “kill Dan” if it came out and that he would release it if Snyder didn’t “just sell the team”.
It’s been long suspected that there was someone in the Washington Football Team organization that had been leaking stories to various websites, attempting to discredit Snyder for a while, though there were never any names mentioned. However, Snyder has now put it out in the open for everyone to see.
This is turning into a television show, and they’re trying to force Snyder to sell his stake in the team to them otherwise they’ll make him regret it. No, this isn’t The Sopranos or something, this is real life, and it looks like there’s about to be a big showdown between Snyder and the minority owners of the team.
We will have to see what comes of it and, of course, if this is all true. It looks like 2020 had one more trip for the Washington Football Team before the New Year.
