A lot of the younger millenials got excited when iCarly announced that it was getting a reboot and that it was going to be on the streaming network Paramount Plus (right now, that’s CBS All-Access) next year.

However, it seems that Jeannette McCurdy who played Sam on the famed Nickelodeon series will not be returning to the reboot. She’s not the only one, it seems that Noah Munck, who played Carly’s brother, Ethan, will not be returning to the series either.

Jeanette McCurdy not slated to be in iCarly reboot

Fans have come out and all but begged Jeanette to be in the series, but some fans have taken to twitter in defense of her decision, telling people to stop asking her to be in the reboot because Jeanette has shared her stories of PTSD on her podcast called “Empty Inside” about her time on the iCarly show.

Just from some of the interviews that she’s done in the past, they’re pretty eye opening. In one she talked about how in the entertainment industry you get judged for actually eating at Hollywood events and how that pretty much turned into an eating disorder for her.

Also, her home lifestyle really didn’t help with that but I guess her Mom was just ill-informed, but you’d have to listen to her podcast to find out the full story.

However, Jay Kogen, the producer of the new reboot said not to rule out Jeanette and Noah’s returns entirely. He said that they have both been busy on other project, Jeanette with her podcast, and Noah with his recurring role on the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs.

He said that they have definitely approached Noah about the series, and as for Jeanette, it’s her call on whether or not she wants to participate or not. When asked about what the content of this new show is going to be about he said “For adults, but still weird.” which does not really explain anything at all so thanks for that, dude. It looks like this new iCarly series will be premiering in March of 2021 so… we’ll just see what that looks like. Stay tuned!!!
