Gloria Estefan has revealed that she too has tested positive for Covid-19 after an encounter that she had with a fan in Miami back in October. The hit maker and Grammy winner says that she lost her senses of taste and smell, had a cough and felt dehydrated while she was sick.
Gloria took to her Instagram account to detail her experience for fans. She said that she dined outdoors at a restaurant in Miami on October 30th and tested negative days later.
“The only thing that I can imagine happened is that someone came up to me when I was eating and tapped me on the shoulder,” she recalled. “They were very close, they had no mask and they were telling me beautiful things — but that’s the only thing that I have done outside my enclosure here, my quarantine …”

Gloria went on to say that she couldn’t help but feel “freaked out” after she noticed that she lost both her sense of taste and her smell.
“I was very lucky, but I just wanted to share with you that I was in quarantine, and one day I went out and met with one person who was not wearing a mask,” Estefan shared. “I even held my breath through their talk, but something must have happened there.”
The ‘Conga’ singer says that thankfully she’s now out of the woods and that she has tested negative twice in the past week. She also went on to urge fans to wear face masks and to practice social distancing at all times. As of press time, there have been over 14 million cases in the United States, along with 274,000 deaths. That number is expected to rise in the coming weeks, and if not months as well.
