‘Welcome to Plathville’ spoilers reveal that we found out some extremely juicy tidbits that have happened in the Plath’s lifestyle so far. One of them being that Ethan finally got fed up with the way his parents were treating his wife and cut all ties with them.
Even though he and Olivia just live literally 0.3 miles from where his parents now live in Cairo, they have cut all contact and don’t see them anymore. They said that it came down to Olivia or Ethan’s family, and Ethan ended up choosing Olivia instead of Mom and Dad.
‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers: Ethan Plath stood up to his parents
Olivia said that at one point during the past year that separation or divorce was definitely on the table. Of course, it looks like for the time being these two have moved past it, but you can tell that they have defintely fought a lot of battles and that their young marriage has been a hard-won battle for them.
Ethan said that last year, they were allowed limited access to his younger siblings and then suddenly they weren’t allowed to see them at all. He didn’t really elaborate as to why this was, but he definitely wasn’t happy about it.
I’m guessing this is what prompted Ethan blowing into the house one day, guns blazing, and cutting off all contact with his parents. Kim and Barry says that it hurt, and we’re not going to deny that, but you have to admit that they had it coming.
Ethan himself says that in the past there were a lot of times when he simply just tried to keep the peace between his parents and Olivia and chose not to get involved, but that was the wrong move and it almost ruined his marriage. That’s when things shifted, I’m hoping for the better.
Ethan’s still goofy, as you can clearly see in the premiere, when he forgot to put gas in that little tiny antique roadster car he had and ended up broken down on the side of the road, which ended up with Olivia leaving him to either walk or get an uber home.
However, just from the way he talked, I think Ethan has learned a lot in the past year. Obviously, he’s learned that he has a different path than the one that his parents wanted him to take, and he has to ultimately be okay with that.
