Joe Rogan has often spoken of Mike Tyson and how he was an inspiration to him when he was younger. He finally got him on the podcast again 2 months ago, and it was interesting seeing a different side of Tyson that many of us had never seen before.
Now, for some reason, Sports Illustrated sent Rogan a framed photo of their iconic “Kid Dynamite” cover from 1986 featuring a 19-year-old Mike Tyson. They had spoken about the cover on their podcast, and SI sent it to him.
“Many thanks to @sportsillustrated for this framed photo of the iconic “Kid Dynamite” cover of their magazine from 1986. @miketyson was, and is a huge inspiration for me, and back when he was 19 on the cover of @sportsillustrated it signified a new era in boxing and a complete rebirth of the heavyweight division.
We talked about this cover on the podcast, and @sportsillustrated was kind enough to send this to me.
I can remember clearly buying this issue and becoming a massive Mike Tyson fan. He changed boxing for a lot of people, and reignited public interest in heavyweights. I’m pretty damn pumped to watch him vs the great @royjonesjrofficial on November 28th, but regardless of the outcome, this framed photo will be a prized possession on my wall.”

It’s a pretty awesome piece and one that he will surely hang on the wall in his next studio. Now, it turns our attention towards the Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. fight this month, on November 28th! It’s been a long time since we last saw Mike Tyson in the ring, but have no doubt, the man is prepared and still packs the same power he always did.
